Bonnie de Jour

So I've been reading "Belle de Jour" by Anonymous. I'm about halfway through and I am having these weird moments where I remember that this is nonfiction and it freaks me out. Not in a like bad way. Its sort of this strange realization that this is (or was) someone's life. Then I can't help but imagine myself in these situations and its even stranger. Especially when it makes sense. Scary. Oh, this book is about a London call girl by the way. The author is actually the inspiration for the new showtime series that I've recently taken to watching. Unfortunately I have just cancelled said channel so that is at an end.

So reading this book I wonder: could I ever be a call girl? My first inclination is respond in the negative. I don't think I have the personality for it. Logistically though, it would make a certain sense. Do you really think after having read how many thousands of romance novels I haven't picked up a couple tricks? (tricks! hahaha!) Its an interesting concept. However since I still haven't cashed in the v-card this question remains moot.

In other news we have a new GM. While I disagree with his method of making changes before observing our operations, he seems a nice enough fellow. IPT is probably shitting a brick because their reality is the most affected. Sorry guys. I closed for the first time since May and I had to be the teacher. It was weird. We left the lights on cause neither of us know how to turn them off (if there is a way). I think that's probably the only thing we may have done wrong, but who knows. I am no expert. I'm a little "hmm" that him and Jen are so buddy-buddy already. She's such a bitch. Today she was "chatting" with him and as they were leaving the backroom she was telling him how she's "never cashed a single paycheck". Terin and I just rolled our eyes at each other. That woman is so getting mugged before I leave this job.

Jsun and I went on a seemingly fruitless quest to Granada to watch the filming of HSM3. We walked the whole school and never saw anything but sport kids and band kids. After I got to work and David Brown (the relayer of the original info) called his sister, we found out that whoever from that cast was there was in the room with the band. Fuck! We walked right past that room. We suck.

Breaking Dawn concert thing is tomorrow. I am so excited!!! Not only do I get to complete my collection of signed Stephenie Meyer novels, but I get to indulge in my favorite eating places in Westwood. Good times.

And yes, I did go crazy with the links in this posting. DEAL WITH IT! hehehehe

And damn you Robot for getting me addicted to the fries/ice cream combo!

If the earth is a rockin'...?

Breaking Dawn party is tomorrow. Am I ready? Can't really say.

In other news: We had a bit of an earthquake the other day. It was quite fun actually. I was at work on the phone and the customer on the phone started freaking out. Our conversation went kind of like this:
Me: Thank you for calling Borders, this is Bonnie. How can I help you?
Him: Hi, yeah. Can you look up a title for me?
   Me: Sure, what's the title
(Before he can tell me I hear the quake coming)
   Me: Oh, earthquake.
(It hits)
Him: Oh my god! Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh my god! Oh shit! Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!
   Me: Are you okay?
Him: My whole office building is shaking.
   Me: Well, its an earthquake.
   Him: Oh my god! Ohshitohshit!
(The shaking stops and Liz asks all customers and employees to evacuate)
Him: Can you look up a book?
Me: Sorry, we have to evacuate. Call back in ten.

It was highly amusing. Plus I got to watch all the toddler time moms abandon their strollers and run out of the building with their children. Unfortunately we weren't outside for too long. I wanted to stay evacuated until my break. Boo-urns.

It was funnier because Kellie and I had been talking, two nights prior, about the '94 quake for a half hour. I told her this story how my sister and I used to share a room during that time. Our idea of cleaning our room was to shove everything under the bed or in the closet. It used to piss our mom off and she would complain that she wouldn't be able to get to us in an emergency situation. So the day before the earthquake we were forced to really clean our room from top to bottom. It was spotless. Then we had the quake which destroyed all of our hard work. So my sister and I claimed that if we clean our room it leads to earthquakes and banked on that excuse for a while. So the question one might ask is: what did you do the day before the earthquake Bonnie?

The answer of course would be: I cleaned the whole house. hahahahahhahaha! My sister cleaned her room for the first time in like 3 months too. It was funny. I called her after the quake and we laughed about it. Then I called my mom and told her and she said "Don't use that as an excuse not to clean! It doesn't prove anything!"

I disagree, Mother, it is now twice proven. Booyah!

Where were you?

That is the question of the week I suppose.

Beaches and Bitching

Yesterday was fan-fucking-tastic. I had no work so I slept in until 12:30pm and hopped right into lunch. Then I pretty much watched the boob tube and went online whilst eating ice cream. Then around 5 I met up with Kellie, Jason, Robert, Preston, Terin, and Kennya and we headed out to Korean BBQ at Bull Soom Jeep (I think?) in L.A. It was loads of fun and super delicious. Then we went on an adventure trying to find Scoops, this really hippie little hole in the wall ice cream shop that has the strangest flavors. I had strawberry-jasmine and I liked it, even though it seemed like no one else did. Oh well. I was proud of myself for stepping out of the comfort zone. After that we headed back to the store and decided to take an impromptu trip to the beach. So we loaded up in Bob and picked up Jason's lady friend and ended up on this tiny strip of beach somewhere between santa monica and malibu. It was nice and secluded and we had waaaaaaaay too much fun. Robert made up some game where we try to put our sticks closest to the water without getting wet and that pretty much made up for me being a fat ass all day. Then Kellie and Robert collectively made this awesome picture in the sand. Unfortunately, KTP's camera battery died minutes prior so the only evidence is on Robert's phone. Since we were so close, we decided to introduce the other 3 to the wonders of watching planes land and that was definitely good times. Especially when we had to circle through the airport. Good times.

So we launched the Bargain Blowout and while it does look tacky, it doesn't quite look like we are going out of business. On a somewhat happy note, I spent 7 hours and 55 minutes of my shift not butting heads with Ken. Unfortunately, in those last five minutes the scanner on Reg 5 stopped scanning and when I told Ken, he took that as me foisting the problem off on him. When in reality, it literally was me asking him what I am supposed to do. For the first 5 minutes he wouldn't give me an answer. He did that thing where you ask that person the same question over and over again, assuming that at some point they will miraculously come up with an answer, despite the fact that their question is actually the person's question. Its retarded. At one point he said "What would you do if I wasn't here?" and walked away. Honestly, I'd call Kellie, I guess since he never trained me on how to do shit. Well, I guess 5 minutes is pretty good considering.

I've just spent 3 hours working on the Breaking Dawn party. On my own time. Hopefully I covered all the bases. We shall see on the morrow. Now I am le tired.

Together we rock...and individually we suck

So I hung out with K-to-the-deuce twice last week and it was good times. First we feasted on mediocre tacos from Del Taco and caught up on Veronica. Our second adventure involved Berry Cider which is always a good time.

Last night I did something incredibly stupid. Most people don't know this about me, but one of my favorite things to watch is E! True Hollywood Stories. I don't care who its about, they always have the most interesting tidbits of information. So there was nothing on TV when I got back home from seeing Wall E at El Capitan (which was AWESOME by the way) and grocery shopping, so I put the TV on my fallback channel, E!. At that time it was THS on The Kardashians, which was actually pretty interesting, considering I knew nothing other than Kim had a sex tape at some point in her life and that seemed to be all anyone knew about her. Anyway, so that ended and I waited to see what was on next. It was another THS, which would've been okay if it hadn't been about Heath Ledger. I sat there the whole intro with my finger on the channel button as I debated whether or not to watch it. I love Heath and I knew this was a bad idea, but instead of pressing the channel button I pressed record. I watched the whole fracking thing and by the end of it I was drowning in my tears. Its just so ridiculous that he died, he was so amazing! I'm gonna be sad at the end of Dark Knight, I know it.

On a somewhat happier note, I bought the Camp Rock soundtrack today and love it! I knew I would, cause I liked the music when I saw the movie, but I am glad to have it in my possession. We had a 40% off CD coupon and I could only afford one CD and CR won out over Mariah's #1's, which I will someday own (hopefully soon, cause I can't get Always Be My Baby out of my head!). Today was rather uneventful as far as days go. I spent a good couple of hours with KTP sorting out boxes of Bargain books for our Blowout event starting Tuesday. Our store is going to look like shit upon entry. Should be interesting.

I can't wait for Korean BBQ on Monday. It better be good, I'm ditching a Weight Watchers meeting for it. Well, in fact, I'm ditching what was supposed to be my first WW meeting. Oh well, I shall end my fattiness another day.

Since it is nearly 2:30am and I must awaken in time to open, I shall end this blog.

What a difference a month makes.

I'd rather be reliving June than in the place I am right now. My life is shit (or at least my belief that I can do my job correctly), but Kaitlin has returned from across the Atlantic and soon we shall celebrate. Also, my fave cousin is in town and I get to see her for a few hours today. Good times!

4th of July was fun. Kellie, Patrick, Heather, and Jason came over and we played Apples-to-Apples and set off some cheap fireworks on my driveway and ran around with sparklers. It was funny. Then we settled in to watch the quintessential 4th of July movie...Independence Day. I love me my Will Smith.

DC

I can't believe I forgot to post this...

Am back from D.C. It was extremely hot and humid, but enjoyable nonetheless. We came, we saw, we conquered. I took about 3,000 pictures and if I knew how to operate this newfangled thing called a "blog" I would post some here. Alas that I am deficient in this arena.
Anyhizzle, there were three historical travesties that I witnessed at our nations capitol and they are listed as follows:
1) In the entryway to the Rotunda of the National Archives rests one of four existing original copies of The Magna Carta. Everyone completely bypasses it without a backward glance.
 2) At Arlington National Cemetery there are 8 people buried there that fought in the Revolutionary War and not a single one of them is on the Persons of Interest List on their Map. What?! These people literally fought for the freedom and existence of this country and we don't get to know where they're buried.
3) On the wall in a space about 8 inches wide between two doorways at Mt. Vernon (George Washington's house) is an unlabeled plastic case containing the key to the front gates of the Bastille. Once again, everyone just glances at it (if they managed to hear the tour lady mention it) and walks on. This is the key (literally) to the start of the French Revolution and it sits idly encased upon a wall with no label. TRAVESTY!!!!!
Aside from those 3 things, it was really fun to explore all the places we went to.

B-DAY FUN

My birthday has passed and it was good times. Went out with KFP and KTP to McBJ's for some berry cider and my first ever pazookie (i don't know how you spell that). It was general good times and then we popped by Borders and wreaked some havoc in the romance section.

Today, I had lunch with my sister and Jennie at one of my favorite restaurants. It was nice. The plan from there was to meet up with my parents at 5 to go to dinner and then see "Singing in the Rain". The 'rents were late, as per usual, but we did end up going to Chi Chi's for dinner and I love their pizza. Then we headed out for the show and my parents totally pulled one over on me. It ended up that they bought tickets to Wicked and we had kick ass orchestra seats. The show was AMAZING!!!!! It was the best show I've seen. I want ever single one of Glinda's sparkly dresses. So pretty.

Aside from all the birthday stuff, I'm almost all packed for the big trip to D.C. and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! As I write this I am clearing all my SD cards for my camera. YAY!!!!
