This is why I am a bad student.

As the end of the semester approaches, I realize now that I have a shit ton of homework to get done. yikes. I hate when procrastination catches up with you.

* I also happen to have the group member from hell. She is unbelievably controlling and keeps trying to tell me and the other guy in our group what we should be talking about. She even sent me a powerpoint document to "edit" in case she wrote the wrong stuff for us. I haven't even told her any of the information I have for my side, which means she filled in what she wants me to talk about. She also called me yesterday to tell me what I was presenting to which I responded with a detailed description of what I was actually going to speak about. This is so annoying. Our teacher even said "Don't do too much research for this. Its not that hard". My only guess is that she must not be doing well in the class and needs a good grade. I, however, have a solid A at the moment.

On Friday I was sitting in bed with my computer charging and resting on my knees, as I got my daily fix of internet trolling. At one point my screen went slightly darker than usual, signaling that the charger had disconnected, and I leaned over to put it back into the socket. I was surprised to find that it was connected to both my computer and the socket. Upon further observation I found that the magnetic part that connects to the computer got so hot while charging that it melted the plastic wire casing and the wire within snapped. Lame.

After work I went to the Apple Store to discover that a new charger costs 80 freakin' dollars! At that point, that was exactly how much I had in my checking account. Emily suggested I look on ebay for a cheaper one, but at this moment I really don't even have any money to spare so I am stuck sans computer til after Friday when we get paid. Even then, I'm not sure I can afford anything until May or when I get my tax return (which ever is sooner). So right now I am using my sister's computer that requires an entire day to charge and even when you use it has to be plugged in and the screen dims and brightens every couple of seconds. I hate technology.

I enjoy typos most especially

I was watching Tyra and she was interviewing Bristol Palin's baby daddy.

What Tyra actually said: You should have listened to your sister.

What my captions said: You should have lynched your sister.

Not quite the same thing.

Yay! Despite my dislike of the movie Twilight, I was extremely excited to hear that Michael Sheen has signed on to do New Moon. I love him and he has had success with the vampire/werewolf films thus far.

6.3

I really should watch the news more often.

Apparently there was a huge earthquake in Italy on Monday and over 250 are dead and 50,000 or so are homeless. Reading about it and looking at pictures just brings back all of the memories from '94.

The magnitude of the Northridge Earthquake was bigger, but we at least had some retrofitted buildings. Italy, well known for it's maintenance of historic buildings, has been reluctant to make the necessary changes and the results are clearly devastating. Its really sad.

And I totally remember this:

That was the brand new parking structure they built on the east side of campus along Zelzah. The whole thing collapsed in on itself and they decided not to rebuild it. It became a memorial field. Here's another picture of it.

And I totally remember going to a vigil outside the Northridge Meadows one night. Looking at that place just made you want to cry. You could see where the whole building just collapsed, obliterating an entire level.

Thought I'd start this post off right with a little video bonus.

Went to Vegas last weekend, which you already know since pretty much everyone that reads this was there. If not, well, it was an interested combination of personalities, resulting in awkward tension mixed with actual fun. I'm just glad Amanda and I stayed a little longer to wander the strip.

I got the PC Supervisor position and will hopefully be starting next week. I'm excited for the challenge.

Spring Break started and I feel like I should do something fun. My sister is going to San Diego and I am jealous.

Went to the Observe & Report premiere last night. It was fun and free. The movie was entertaining, but I felt a little bipolar by the end of it. Maybe a little too much gratuitous violence. I was very excited to see Sterling Knight, whom I enjoy watching on Sonny with a Chance. I felt a little retarded when I asked him for a picture because a)I really can only know him from the Disney Channel and b)he is Brittany's friend. I remain excited, though. And I think I would probably be excited were I to see Demi Lovato. She seems super fun and nice. I super hope we fet 17 Again tickets. Zac Efron *drool*.

Ketch-ing-up...in no particular order.

  • My interview went well on Tuesday. but you probably already know that.
  • VEGAS!!! Tomorrow. Can't wait. Bought new pants & shoes. (Probably should not have, but they are cute)
  • I'm considering not going to class tonight. We'll see.
  • Ugh. Why am I awake? I don't even have to get up for another 20 minutes.
  • Oh, and Twit is growing on me. Still not overly exciting, but interesting to see what random thoughts pop into people's heads.
  • Kellie, David, & I were talking yesterday and a new term was formed. Warmance: a romance between two people taking place in a wartime setting. A good example would be Atonement. Oh, and a bromance can be a subsidiary of a warmance.
